Dr. Ravi Bansal

Dr. Ravi Bansal, an eminent Senior Consultant of Nephrology at Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute (PSRI), New Delhi, completed his MBBS from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi, and M.D. (Internal Medicine) from the same institution. He joined AIIMS in 2001, and enrolled for the DM Course in Nephrology. He worked at AIIMS in the Nephrology Department from 2001 to 2007. Dr. Bansal specializes in treating Hypertension (High BP), Nephrotic Syndrome, Urinary Problems, Renal Failure and Kidney Diseases. He is also an expert in Kidney Transplant, Dialysis, Ultrasound Guided Kidney Biopsy, Peritoneal Dialysis, Hemodialysis, and Critical Care Nephrology. Dr. Bansal has multiple national and international publications to his credit. As a committed doctor, he has undergone training programs at various centers, and has also attended many seminars and conferences. He has achieved the fellowship of Advanced Training in Kidney Transplantation (AZM-Netherland). He is the life member of various prestigious institutes which include the Indian Society of Nephrology, Indian Society of Hemodialysis, Indian Society of Organ Transplantation, Delhi Medical Council (DMC), and the Medical Council of India (MCI). He received the first prize in poster presentation (free paper session) in ‘Clinical Nephrology’ during the ISNCON 2004 held at Varanasi, and during the same event was awarded the second prize in poster presentation (free paper session) in ‘Dialysis’. His research work includes ‘A Comparative study of Hemodialysis using Membranes of different Biocompatibility and their effect on Cytokine production in patients of End Stage Renal Disease’ with Professor N.P. Singh at Nephrology Division, Department of Medicine, Maulana Azad Medical College & associated LNJP Hospital; ‘To study the effect of maximum tolerable doses of ACE-I (Lisinopril), ARB (Losartan) and add-on Losartan on Proteinuria and progression of Renal Disease in patients of Type-2 Diabetes with Early Nephropathy’ with Dr Sanjay K. Agarwal, at Department of Nephrology, AIIMS; and ‘Techniques of Internal Jugular Catheter Insertion’ with Prof. S.C. Tiwari at Department of Nephrology, AIIMS. He is also the Principal Investigator in the ongoing phase III Clinical Trial at PSRI Hospital.
